Leo was called Jacob when he was our foster kitten. He and his sister, Jasmine, came to us in January 2012. He was the first of the pair to be adopted in late-February by a really kind couple named Audrey and Robert as an companion for their cat Davey. Audrey, his new mum, sends us regular updates, and she’s agreed to let me share them here.
Leo was a real favourite of both of ours, but Megan had a real soft spot for him. He has a very sweet face and demeanour. He could be a little slower on the uptake sometimes and was prone to falling. One time Megan was holding him, and she dropped him down about a foot off the ground, which is a normal way to put cats down, but he didn’t put his paws out to catch himself, and fell right on his face. This was typical of Leo.
After the jump, an update on his new habits, and some photos of Leo at home.

Jacob seems to be settling in nicely. He has used his litter box. He was cautious at first – now he is very generous with his headbutts. He is playing as we speak. What a doll!

We wanted to let you know that Jacob had a great first night. As I mentioned before, we set up the office just for him. I slept in there with him. He sure loves to head butt!
He was very quick this morning and ran out of the office, much to our surprise. He seems just fine. He has been playing with Davey on the cat tower for the past hour! They seem to be very intrigued with one another. They are roaming around together. There has been some playful swats – no hissing or growling. I’m pretty sure Jacob is going to conk out for a nap soon, he has been playing pretty hard.

I thought you might get a kick out of this video of our little guy. (We re-named him Leo. ) We had a cat named Jacob for 18 years. Anyways the name fits him very well.
He and Davey are very chummy. Lots of cuddles and grooming.
Leo is becoming pretty mischievous these days. Enjoy the video! [The video is at the top of this post.]

Thought we’d send a photo. As you can see Leo is getting big – and he loves to play in water. It’s his new thing.

I thought I was time to send you a photo of Leo (Jacob). He absolutely loves water . He will often walk around with paws soaked – he likes to play with water in the water bowl. He’s such a doll.
He’s doing very well and is a very happy affectionate little guy.
